Cool H - Mini Interview

Haqqi who is popularly known as Cool H is a Nigerian born artist who lives in the UK. Cool H rose to fame in 2009 when he won the Mr Nigeria show and has since been doing music and sharing same stage with the likes of Wande CoalDavido, Kcee, 2face  in Scotland ,Manchester, Nottingham and Liverpool as well as a show with Tenkno, Iyanya, Chocolate B and Emma Nyra on tour.

Sonia Royy: Hi, so how are you today?

Cool H: I'm good.

Sonia Royy: How did it all start for you, How did you know music was something you wanted to do? You have won two awards so far congratulations on that and how have things been going for you?

Cool H: Yes thank you, things have been going great. First of all, I want to say Cool H is an African UK based artist. Before that I was Mr Nigeria UK 2009 and to be honest I have not much experience in the music scene before Mr Nigeria, it was actually when I won Mr Nigeria UK 2009 that gave me the aspiration to go ahead. Although I always had the interest and passion for music before but just starting was not something I was sure about. I was not sure on how I was going to start, I was not sure if I was ready for it because music is not something you can just start out, so I got into the music scene when I first won Mr Nigeria because that gave me an opportunity and it escorts me into the music industry. Since 2012, I have been taking music seriously and that's when I released my first  single. I have been nominated for awards and I have won 2 awards now, I'm just keeping consistent, keep going and also just been at the right place I mean by getting myself out there.

Sonia Royy: We know you have been working on new songs and other projects? Is there anything new this year?

Cool H: Well in 2016, I am working on a lot of projects and 2 have been released already. One of them was produced in Nigeria last year which was called "Ankara Baby", released on the 4th February 2016 and yes it's really doing great. The reason why I called it Ankara Baby is because my mum sells Ankara and lace back home so I'm trying to use that track to promote her business and also to get awareness. Also to celebrate and embrace all the African ladies that remember where they come from, African girls or black people in this country that remember where they come from. Ankara Baby is a very interesting song and if you hear it, you will like it. I also released another one in March called GBES. GBES is something like a slang, which means something heavy and I kind of created it. It's a tune guys go check it out, it's out there and it's on other blogs too. It's going to be on YouTube and also on News With Sonia Royy blog, so hopefully they can hear it from Sonia Royy's blog too. It's going to be on iTunes and Ankara Baby next week maybe before the end of March and also there will be a new video coming up for me by ending of March. Last year, I went to Nigeria and shot a video called "WONWAMI"  featuring Solemzo P.

Sonia Royy: Well thank you very much for the interview. As a fan, I look forward to seeing your new videos and your new music as well.
